Local Dining & Pubs

The Ship Inn, Porlock – good pub food and local beers. A lively pub with a good pub quiz on the second Friday of each month. In winter, they do fish and chips and a drink on Fridays at the Bottom Ship at Porlock Weir, and a casserole and a drink on Mondays at the Top Ship in Porlock High Street at a price that will have you coming back for more.

Andrew’s on the Weir, Porlock Weir – an award-winning restaurant serving local food in a classic setting on Porlock Weir.

Millers at the Anchor, Porlock Weir – serves a truly excellent high tea (or champagne high tea, if you're celebrating a special occasion) in a beautiful setting at Porlock Weir, with the most comfortable lounge you could ever expect, furnished with an eclectic collection of art, antiques and good books – you’ll be pushed to get up once you’ve settled in. Make sure that you book in advance

There are a number of other pubs and restaurants in the village, including The Royal Oak, The Castle, Piggy-in-the-Middle and The Whortleberry Tea Room, all situated a short walk away in the High Street. Nearby to Porlock, there are tea rooms at Selworthy, Horner and Bossington where a local cream tea can be enjoyed at the end of a country walk.
